For the past few days Comcast has been relaying TV Asia and Zee TV on channels 665 & 666 respectively. From what we understand Comcast plans to discontinue this from 31st January and also has no plans of relaying these as paid channels!!! SAD isnt it? Imagine able to view these channels without having to install a dish!! There are many people living in Harrisburg, Camp Hill, Mechanicsburg and nearby areas who cannot install DISH/DIRECT TV due to no LINE OF SIGHT problems, Comcast came in as a boon in disguise though for a short period of time.
Comcast may have noticed a sudden rise in the sale/rental of their digital cable boxes. The reason being, the telecast of the international channel and a very strong community base for the same. Several people have been calling Comcast and were advised on taking this up with the Marketing Division of Comcast and hence this petition. A lot of Satellite subscribers are also interested who are willing to switch to Comcast if the international channels are made available (due to the low cost with Comcast).
It will be a WIN -WIN situation for all.
We could connect with our homeland by requesting Comcast to add the following Asian channels as free or paid channels in their current channel line up.
1. Zee
2. TV Asia
There are other channels too like
3. Sony
4. Star Plus.
We hope Comcast agrees to start them as a part of their lineup seeing the enormous demand that it has.
