Prime Minister of Australia,
Cc John Brumby
Premier of Victoria
PETITION by Indian Australian and Indians Worldwide
ASK AN URGENT ENQUIRY INTO DEATH OF A PERMANENT RESIDENT OF INDIAN ORIGIN
WE, THE UNDERSIGNED EXPRESS DEEP CONCERN:
1) We condemn this brutal attack in the strongest terms possible and ask that perpetrators be punished to the full extent of the law.
2) That the Victorian Government has failed to:
- control such kind of hate crimes towards the Indian International students and now Indian Permanent residents of Australia.
- Despite the outrage about such repeated attacks in past there is no evidence that this nonsense will stop anytime soon.
-Again and again it is told that such incidents are not hate crimes or are not racially based. Then What R they?
An Indian is stabbed for fifty cents-how would you justify this to be an opportunistic reason to stab someone?
3) That the Victorian Government has failed to evaluate the ground reality and give a FAIR GO.
This kind of repeated violent crimes in Victoria projects an image of The Place Not To Be In and is reprehensible not only to Indian Australian, but to all Australians as such henious knife-crime threaten the multicultural foundation of the country .
Unfortunately, sadder still is that the Victorian leadership has failed to condemn these brutal uncivilised crimes; not one leader has repudiated such behavior.
4) The inability of the ruling party's leadership is leaving many Indian Australians with a disturbing view of the party. There is much at stake here, including the Indian Australian community's votes.
5) We deserve better AND ARE WATCHING. We ask
How the government plans to control such state of lawlessness?
What policing and legal action has been taken in past towards such violent incidents?
What was the outcome?
We Ask for a fair go.
Sincerely,
