Israel media bias

Put simply, media bias is the intentional manipulation of public opinion for or against a particular issue, person, group or country, in violation of established journalistic ethics and media standards.

On the issue of the Middle east conflict, particularly reporting on Israel and Palestinian policies statements and actions, media bias has become commonplace. The prejudice coloring and even shaping international coverage is the strong wind that fans anti-Israel sentiment the world over. And of all the world's press, the Western media is the prime culprit.

All you need to do is switch on the BBC 10 oclock news and you find Orla Guerin spreading her anti-Israel media bias. The BBC will use a number of tools and subtleties in its anti-Israel bias, all of which constitute a major break from established journalistic ethics and media objectivity. Knowing, and being able to identify, these tools and subtleties is the first step in rooting out biased, subjective reporting. Here are just a few that the BBC can use for their imbalanced reporting:
1. Lack of proper context and background information
2. Misleading definitions and terminology
3. Opinion disguised as objective coverage
4. Selective omission of facts and events
5. Distortion of facts
6. Drawing false conclusions
