Jonathan Havron, 18 years old from York was last seen alive on cctv on 27th February 2010, his body was found in the river Foss on the 10th of March 2010.
After nearly a year of waiting we finally have a date for the inquest (24th February). However, they want to put that he died on the 10th of March 2010. This is WRONG! He was last seen on cctv going near the river Foss on 27th February and that he doesn’t leave that area, during this time his mobile phone stopped working. (police checks confirm this). This all proves that he died on the 27th of February 2010.
Some people may think it doesn’t matter what date is on his death certificate as it doesn’t change what happened, but to his family it means a lot. Every year for the rest of our lives we will mark the anniversary of his death in our own way, but what date should that be? The one we know is right or the one that they plan to put on the certificate? If they rule the 10th March 2010 it means we will have two dates of death to mark every year as we can’t let the 27th February 2010 go forgotten.
We hope to get them to change their mind so please sign the petition for his family’s sake.
