Kian Egan and Nicky Byrne of Westlife deserve their own time in the spotlight!
That they have the talent is obvious; that they have the fans goes without saying. So why is it, that after more than four years and four albums, these two men have yet to sing lead in a released single or indeed any song written and produced for and/or by Westlife?
This petition does not have as its intention, creation of stress and division within the band. As far as we fans can tell, Westlife is still one big, happy family, and thats just how we would like to keep it. We who sign this petition also do not assume to know how to manage a band or how to maximise those profit margins. We do however know what we want and what we want is variety. What we want, is to hear Kian Egan and Nicky Byrne sing.
And would this be so hard a request to fulfil? At this stage in Westlifes career, if Kian or Nicky were to hold the reins and lead all five men into song, there would not be a negative impact on sales; in fact the result more likely would be an increase in sales!
Perhaps the Powers that Be in management do not realise just how much the fans long for the chance to break out in applause when Nicky takes the microphone. We want to see a band where equal opportunity is clear. If Kian and Nicky were only present for their looks, then our dissatisfaction and this petition would never have existed.
Shane, Mark and Bryan have beautiful voices and - do not mistake us we want them to continue to sing. View this not as an attempt to mute them forever, but as an attempt to raise the volume on those other two members of the band who we feel deserve the chance to showcase their considerable talents.
Please, just let them sing!!

I only signed this petition for a friend, but I don't think Kian or Nicky have particularly special voices. Just make sure Shane carries on singing leads even if Kian and Nicky get the chance. If they don't live up to how good everyone says they are, H. L
