Justice For Maria

In light of Public Advocate Julian Gardner's order to remove the feeding tube of Mrs. Maria Korp, we are petitioning the Government of Victoria to lodge an application for judicial review in the Supreme Court. Here, the undersigned, request the following actions be taken by the Attorney General of Victoria Mr. Robert Hulls.

1) That the Attorney General apply for an immediate review of Public Advocate Julian Gardner's decision to remove the feeding tube of Mrs. Maria Korp in the Supreme Court of Victoria. Given the urgency of this request we implore the Attorney General to immediately intervene so judicial review of this decision can take place.

2) We ask that the Attorney General file for a temporary injunction order to reinsert Mrs. Maria Korp's feeding tube pending a fair and transperent hearing in the Supreme Court. Mrs. Maria Korp deserves to have her life preserved while the jutice system undertakes its 'due process' duty to her. We, the undersigned, are very concerned that Mrs. Maria Korp will be forced to die a slow and painful death by dehydration if food and water is not provided through the feeding tube.

It is a fundamental human right that a person be afforded nutrition and hydration, especially when they are vulnerable and disabled. We urge the Attorney General to act with compassion and prudence in overseeing the office of Public Advocate, to ensure no further abuses of patients' rights occur in the State of Victoria.
