Dear Board Supervisors,
The Family of Julio Ayala, Justice4Julio Ayala Campaign Committee and the community will voice their outrage about the fate of Julio Ayala, 26 yr. Salvadoran, US legal resident, Killed by SSF PD at the SF Airport Hotel on 4-3-05, at your board Hearing on 6-21-05.
In public comments, the following demands will be presented for your strong consideration:
* Immediate reports from SSF PD, DA, Coroner, paramedics and Fire Dpt on
Julio Ayala's homicide
* Immediate launching of an independent FBI investigation
* Publication of 911 dispatching tape related to SSF PD killing of Julio Ayala
* Justice4JulioAyala, NOW !
The Ayala family was not authorized to view Julio?s body until its transfer to funeral parlor 4 days after his death ! Their plea for any information around what happened to their son at the hands of SSF PD has remained totally unanswered.
Amnesty International is getting involved, as well as the Salvadoran Consulate and Salvadoran corporate Press. The Ayala family, (in collaboration with Idriss Stelley Foundation, Tierra Insurgente, Barrio Defense, SF Coleman Advocate/La Raza Legal Center/SF Carecen, October 22 against Police Brutality Coalition, Bay Area End Police Brutality Network and a number of Latino and general community organizations as well as local and international community media) will pursue all legal means to obtain justice for their son !
We urge you to impress upon City and County San Mateo appointed officials to expedite the public release of all information pertaining to The Julio Ayala?s case. We trust that you will demonstrate your genuine care and concern for the safety of our community at risk of racial oppression by taking immediate action following the Board hearing on 6-21-05.
