Keep Fiona Hutchison as Gabrielle on OLTL

Dear Brian Frons,

My name is Michelle and I, like many others, am a fellow fan of One Life to Live and of General Hospital. I am mainly more predominantly into OLTL because of one very simple plus Bo and Gabrielle. Now, I've been watching One Life to Live since I was able to tie my shoes and understand the concept of blackmail, and I have been a faithful watcher over the years; even when the show almost didn't hold my interest anymore, I kept watching because I knew it would get better it always had before, and I trusted the "Powers that Be" to liven up the show again and it always happened eventually, one way or the other, so I never lost faith.

I've been watching Bo and Gabrielle for almost two years, now. And I have watched them undergo the most amazing transition: mere acquaintances, to relatives (through Asa and Gabrielle's marriage), to enemies. From enemies to roommates, to at least being able to stand each other, to friends. And finally, from friends to something even more spectacular lovers. The smartest thing I've ever seen on the show was this storyline, progressing with the care and time it was given. A lot of times, the mistakes I've seen made on soaps are by moving a love story too quickly; so fast, it makes it difficult for the audience to buy it. I've seen that happen way too many times to count with couples who could have been great if they had only taken the time. How refreshing to see a genuine attraction between Bo and Gabrielle!

In addition to the beautiful pairing of these two, Gabrielle has been in some really wonderful storylines herself. Some people say that Gabrielle is just "filler" because she's never on the air well, this is wrong for a few reasons. First of all, you can't blame Fiona Hutchison for the incapability of the writing staff to put Gabrielle in a real storyline. Second of all, if you're thinking of "letting her go" (which I know is your favorite phrase) because you don't think there is any potential with the character, then you are wrong there too. Every time you and/or your staff of writers has put even the slightest amount of thought into it, Gabrielle has been able to be in some really awesome storylines. Just since she came back in 2001, she's been involved in Asa's plot to send Max to prison, but ended up falling in love with him again! What a great twist! Then she and Max were the main suspects in Asa's "murder" investigation, then she got involved with blackmailing Todd Manning, then she was in the "Bo and Gabrielle pairing" storyline, then she got involved in the bribery storyline with Joel Miranda, then she was involved in Al's arson case, then she was part of the Bo/Gabrielle/Nora triangle, then she got mixed up with Matthew's true paternity, then she went and got herself involved with Troy MacIver and his insanity and winded up getting locked in a morgue, and now she is involved in this whole mess with Al's "death". As you can see, it's really not that hard to get her into a compelling storyline, and she's been in quite a few! And Fiona Hutchison has delivered these scenes in nothing short of Emmy award-winning performances! And now, with everything Bo and Gabrielle have been through and with everything that Gabrielle is going through now with the death of her son, there is so much potential for this character and for this storyline, it would be such a shame to end it now just so you can have someone else to kill off for your serial killer murder storyline! If you're looking to feed the fire of this storyline, why not kill off the people that no one cares about? The people that the fans are sick and plainly tired of watching day after day? I'd be more than happy to give you a list of names of perfect candidates: River, Adriana, Rex, Jen, Joey, Flash, Riley, Kevin, Kelly, Paul, Ron. Take your pick! There are many more out there that you can choose from. I've been out there on the internet and I know who is disliked on the show; some of them may be favorites of mine, but the majority of the fans do not care for them at all. It's hard to find people who DO support those characters. But believe me, there ARE Gabrielle fans out there and there ARE Fiona Hutchison fans, and tons of them there are fan bases, message boards, and websites out there to prove it! Please don't get rid of one of the most versatile characters on the show. You've gotten rid of so many great actors and actresses already: Roger Howarth, James DePaiva, Ty Treadway, Erin Torpey, Nathaniel Martson, and many more. And while you may not think you're doing a lot of damage, since not everyone would drop the show because of your decisions, the truth is that you are. There are tons of RH fans who have left because he left. There are plenty of JdP fans who have left because of his exit. There are many Ty Treadway fans who have had enough of you firing and rehiring him and have left the show. There are too many ET fans to count who just cannot accept a Jessica recast and have dropped the show. There are SO many NM fans who are fed up with you cutting people loose and have dropped the show due to this decision too. Slowly, little by little, you are destroying your own show! It really adds up, and soon there will be no one left to support the show. Now, I know you've made attempts to fix the unholy terror you've unleashed on the show, when you "axed" all of our favorites, by reprieving Ty Treadway and Nathaniel Martson, but with NM it is difficult because, by the time you realized what a huge mistake you made, you had already filmed Al's death making it very hard to bring him back. Please don't let this happen with Gabrielle! Don't do something you will regret. Please start writing the show for the fans and not for yourselves.

This is the list of signatures that were signed by concerned fans over the internet; fans who don't want Fiona Hutchison to go, and certainly don't want Gabrielel killed off! Please don't dismiss this letter, but instead take into consideration the requests of the fans!
