Keep GW safe

We respect a farmer's right to run their business, but we believe public safety should come first.
We believe the proposed new farm building west of Great Whittington would be dangerous.
It would put the public at risk every day of the year, because of the increased tractor journeys it would create:
- on a narrow lane with many blind corners and no escape routes; and
- at the drop-off point for two school buses.
We believe the risk will be especially severe to children, cyclists, walkers and horse-riders.
This risk could be avoided if the proposed building was sited at one of the two alternative sites the applicant farmer already owns.
We therefore urge Northumberland Council to refuse planning consent. We would support an alternative Planning Application at one of the other sites.
This would keep the public safe, and still allow the farmer to farm.
