Keep the Flappits as a bike track.

We the people of Bradford and surrounding areas wish to express our total opposition to the restoration of the Hallas Rough quarry (aka Flappits).

This is due to the fact that it has been used as a track for off road enthusiasts for 50 years and in that time not only was it used for trials competitions but 12 times trials world champion Dougie Lampkin trained there along with James Dabill current UK trials champion, the site is also marked on a map given by Bradford council to it's refuse collectors as a motorcycle track.

The Auto Cycle Union have shown willingness to take over this land and have it properly set up as a off road track, however you the council showed no willingness to support this idea by claiming the land still had to be restored as in the planning contract held by Cedric Gillson before a planning application for a bike track would be considered.

Now based on the fact that this is already a well established off road track and that after restoration if a planning application to make an off road track was seriously considered, that would result in the site been excavated thus the restoration been a complete waste of money and time.

We ask that you the council deal with the issue of the planning contract and allow the A.C.U to establish a safe fun properly managed track that Bradford can be proud of.
