To the Senior Management Team, Governors, and PTA of the Friary School, Lichfield
We, the Undersigned, do not wish to change the uniform of the Friary School. We feel it is suitable in its current state for maximum working and learning functionality. The school tie has been a key part of the Friary uniform for decades, and we see no reason to change it at present. It is true that a number of schools across the country are changing their traditional shirt and tie uniforms to the modern, more relaxed polo shirt style; however, the Friary has been an established school since 1982, firstly as an all-girls grammar school, and then a comprehensive, which still attains some of the best results in the country. This alone is a good enough reason to keep the school uniform as it is, not forgetting the thousands upon thousands of children, young people, young adults who have passed through our school wearing the distinguished Friary tie- a tie which will have been passed down to siblings, children even. Why change something that bears no reason for change?
