I turned on the TV today to City Online (YES I LIVE IN THE TORONTO AREA) today's topic blew my mind.
THE TORONTO CITY COUNCIL WANTS OUR FIREFIGHTERS AND EMS TO REMOVE THE SUPPORT OUR TROOPS DECALS FROM OUR EMERGENCY VEHICLES.
"Because City Council never approved of them in the first place."
"It is the opinion of the council that our emergency vehicles are being used in an ad campaign, that wouldn't be used for an other cause, be it illiteracy, cancer or otherwise"
MY ISSUE IS THAT COUNCIL IS ATTEMPTING TO MAKE THIS A POLITICAL ISSUE -
"you never got permission from the governement!"
WHAT ABOUT ASKING THE TAXPAYERS -
WE PAY FOR THESE VEHICLES, WE PAY FOR THIS WAR...AND WE PAY FOR THIS "COUNCIL" TO DECIDE WHAT IS ALLOWED TO HAPPEN TO OUR MONEY!
SO LET'S DO ALL WE CAN TO FORCE "THE COUNCIL" TO KEEP THE DECALS WHERE THEY BELONG, ON PUT EMERGENCY VEHICLES AND ANYWHERE ELSE OUR TAX PAYERS WANT THEM PUT!
VOTE YES TO KEEP THE DECALS!

Given how many firemen and emergency workers lost their lives on 9-11 I would think that the brotherhood of firemen and EMS would be allowed to honor their memory with the support of the troops who are in a country because of what happened to their comrad
