Keeping Diablo 3 artistic direction intact:

It has been a very short while ( 3 days on the day of making this petition ) since the long awaited announcement of Diablo 3, but strangely some people have been causing a lot of unnecessary commotion about the looks of the game for no good reason, and with the introduction of a petition to change Diablo 3 art direction it really became clear that fans who support Diablo development team choice of artistic direction had to do something to support the Dev team and tell them that they are on the right track.














-Reasons for why Diablo 3 art direction is good and needs to stay intact:

1-As it has been clearly stated in many interviews regarding D3 art direction, the devs want to create different moods to fit each different environment and invoke certain emotions through subtle ambient color touches that make each place distinctive and unique.





2-Painted textured look very representative of the fantasy-book atmosphere of Diablo lore very well without making it too cartoony or colorful, the painterly feeling adds a lot to the game looks.





3-Natural phenomena ( like bloom, and rainbows ) add a feeling of immersion to the game, and make the environment more believable.





4-Being able too see around in a good radius ( in dungeons ) enables the player to create tactics in his combat and make use of his environment.





5-Effects like fire, thunder, auras, etc etc ... add a lot to the game and make it easier to understand what is going on since it is distinguishable by both color and sound.

-And for all the claims that Diablo 3 art looks exactly like World of Warcraft

The game is still in an early stage of development and the Devs clearly have a very clear vision of what they want, and after working on it for four years and testing many other options out we really don't have the right to say anything about how we want it to be, why? because we only saw it THREE days ago, that's why it is much more mature and wise to let them work in peace to make the game better and finish it without much annoyance.








Just let Diablo 3 development team concentrate on the game so that we get the Blizzard product quality we want.
