La Salle University Food Account/Gold Card Off Campus Use

We, the undersigned, the students of La Salle, are tired of the lack of choices and variety in terms of dining options at and around the La Salle campus. Food establishments such as Kirk's Pizza that are willing to accept Gold Card and/or Food Account have apparently been turned down by La Salle. Is this an act of ensuring all Food and Gold money must go back into La Salle's pockets? It does not have to be this way. Many area schools including Drexel and Temple embrace food establishments off campus and allow their students to use their accounts to eat at these locations. It is our money and we deserve a say in where we can spend it. We are college students with little money besides our account money. Allowing students to eat at places such as Kirks, Explorer's Den, the lunch truck, etc will not only increase variety but will further La Salle's activity in the support of the community.
We are requesting that La Salle actively looks into and pursues the installation of Gold Card or Food Account accepting equipment in establishments that wish to have them as well as arranging agreements with these establishments to make this possible. It would be a great benefit to the student body as well as the community...
