Landlords should tell tenants of Consents they are signing that affect the rental property The property behind the one we rent applied for a commercial consent. All the neighbours were asked to sign the council consent. Our landlord signed. As the landlord does not live anywhere near here they are not effected by the approved consent. As tenants we have to put up with Signs being erected on the lawn we pay for and maintain Increased number of vehicles to build the new facilities Increased vehicles and people walking around our house to visit facilities New driveway put across our lawn, trees being trimmed. It would be good if the landlord was forced to communicate changes they were allowing to take place that may have some impact on the tenant. They should at least inform the tenant of possible changes even if they don't have the courtesy to ask the tenant's opinion on the consent applied for. Many tenants would be in a position to give the landlord relevant feedback that could actually increase the value of their asset. Landlords may well get a more loyal tenant. Obviously the landlord has the power to do as they like as the land owner however a bit of common courtesy can only make for better relationships.
