Landmark Mabel Memorial Chapel and Cemetery

U.S. Navy Surgeon Lucien G. Heneberger, a military hero, donated the Mabel Memorial Chapel in 1898. The Chapel was built on land donated by the Moses Wenger family, specifically to be used only for a church. As trustees for the Chapel, The First Presbyterian Church of Harrisonburg and The Presbyterian Church (USA) should work with the Virginia Department of Historic Resources to preserve the Chapel and Cemetery for future generations. I request that the Virginia Department of Historic Resources move forward on the application filed in 2007 by the Mabel Memorial Congregation and landmark the Mabel Memorial Chapel and Cemetery without delay.
