Lets make the Irish language optional on the school curriculum

The role of education is to prepare the young for life. Many hours of valuable curriculum time are being spent on a subject which will give most people little or no benefit. At the same time other subjects such as maths are suffering, with many kids getting disappointing results.
For many people the Irish language is an important part of their heritage, and they should be free to choose that their kids study it. Other people would prefer that the time be spent on other subjects, such as maths or a foreign language which might help the kids get employment abroad. They should be given a choice too.
Lets make Gaeilge optional in schools.
