Life Sciences Restructure

Imperial is putting teaching second place to research in a restructure that will see Plant Sciences vanish from the University. Faulty data analysis and lack of evidence by the Department of Life Sciences has led to a plan that threatens the jobs of 27 members of academic staff, the security of Postgraduate degrees and the breadth of Undergraduate degrees in Biology and Biochemistry. The Review Panel charged with this decision has dismissed data proving the success of Sections they are deleting whilst providing no evidence of their own. They have provided no plan as to what will happen to Undergraduate teaching. Students and Staff stand together against these proposals.
