Because sanitary napkins are listed as medical devices, themanufacturer does not have to list the ingredients. We believe thatwomen have a right to know what it is they are using. Some women havehad allergic reactions and severe irritation resulting from their use,and without a list of ingredients are unable to find out what causedthe irritation, making it nearly impossible to avoid future andpotentially dangerous reactions. Most people wouldn't buy prescriptionmedicine, food, or even a shirt without reading the label for thecontents. It is unacceptable that manufacturers are not required to putthe ingredients on a product that comes into contact with such asensitive part of the body. Make all ingredients a required part of thelabeling. It's the right thing to do. Menstruation is not a medicalcondition, and pads are not a medical device; they are a dailynecessity and women have the right to know the ingredients.
