Kuwaiti underground cartoonist MadM2000 has expressed his intention to stop publishing. The artist made this declaration in response to what he termed a mishandling of some members in the Kuwaiti society of his work.
The artist has published his work marked by a sharp criticism of various aspects and issues facing Kuwait - anonymously over the previous 4 years. MadM2000s courageous cartoons often dealt with subject matters that nobody else had the nerve to tackle in the mainstream media. A huge portion of the Kuwaiti society has admired MadM2000s work, but it also attracted sever disapproval from others who belong mostly to religious fundamentalist groups.
Given the outcry that resulted upon the artists declaration on his Internet outlet (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/MadM2000/), we urge the artist to reconsider his decision to retire his creativity so prematurely. The Kuwaiti society greatly appreciates the impact accomplished by the artist over the past few years, and awaits more from his superb and creative mind.
