Your goodself is aware that some print media managements are disbursing Dearness Allowance under a self-styled Dearness Allowance formula with 189 as base and divisor.
Your goodself is also aware that according to Majithia Wage Board recommendations 167 is the base and divisor for calculating Dearness Allowance for print media workers, as envisaged in Gazette No 2532(E) of Nov 2011.
Your goodself is also aware that the Hon Supreme Court in its judgment made on Feb 7, 2014, in the matter of W.P. 246 of 2011, said that 'there is no valid ground for interference' in the recommendations made by the Hon Justice (retd) Majithia.
Hence, we hereby petition your goodself to ask the print media managements to stop disbursing dearness allowance under 189 base and divisor formula and start disbursing dearness allowance under 167 base and divisor formula as envisaged in Gazette No 2532 (E) of 2011.
