Massachusetts Motorcycle Law

My name is Christina R. Henderson and I am starting this petition on behalf of my family and all families that have had a member or members of their family hurt or killed in a motorcycle accident. On April 22, 2005 my father David E. Smith was on his way home on his motorcycle after picking it up from the motorcycle shop. David was not even 5 minutes away from the shop where he had picked up his motorcycle when he got hit be a 21 year old driver. In the police report that David had received from the Palmer Police Station the driver told the police that she never saw him. In our opinion the statement I never saw him. is unacceptable. There should be a law passed for a driver of a motor vehicle that hits a person on a motorcycle should have to go to safety school, have an eye exam, be placed on probation for 1year, pay a fine and or lose their license for 60 days. At this time in the state of Massachusetts there is no law that protects anyone that drives a motorcycle. It would be greatly appreciated for all who reads this petition signs it in agreement to having a law passed.
