Max Mosley to step down as FIA President

of the FIA has become untenable and that he should resign before
further damage is done to the sport of Formula 1. Mr Mosley has
demonstrated time and time again that he does not have the sport's
best interests at heart, nor does he care about the teams taking part
and the millions of F1 fans who have lost faith in his leadership of
the sport's governing body.
The problems that led up to the farcical 2005 US Grand Prix were not
resolved by decisions that could have easily been made by Mr. Mosley
and the FIA. Whilst we appreciate that the issues with the Michelin
tyres that caused 7 of the 10 teams currently racing in Formula 1 to
not start the race on grounds of safety were not his or the FIA's
fault, it seems that little effort was made to resolve the situation
in time, despite being informed of the problems several hours before
the race was due to begin. Instead of working with all parties
involved - Michelin, the teams (Bridgestone and Michelin), Bernie
Ecclestone, and the promoter of the race - to seek an acceptable
resolution for all, Mr Mosley exerted his authority to prevent
potential solutions from being agreed upon.
A governing body is there to resolve issues such as these, not to use
the situation as a political tool to bully suppliers and teams into a
corner where their only option is not to race. To then charge them
with bringing the sport into disrepute is arrogance of the highest
order, and only serves to further undermine the team's and public's
faith in the FIA and its President. Problems that cannot be avoided
need solutions, Mr Mosley Our solution is to ask you to step down -
for the good of the sport we all love.
