This petition is especially created by McFly fans worldwide, for the UK McFly and to warn the US McFly and their lawyers to back off and let the UK McFly keep their name. As far as we are concerned, the US McFly is not signed to any record company, are barely famous to our knowledge and therefore, have no right to sue a band (i.e. the UK McFly) who already has a solid, established name throughout the UK, are signed to Universal Music, with one massive hit single on the number one spot for two weeks and another one coming in June, a massive fanbase worldwide and a sold-out supporting act.
We hereby ask the US McFly to let the UK McFly keep their name and the legal matter to be dropped! As we believe this is not about legal matters in the first place, but rather as an act of fear that UK McFly's popularity will beat the US McFly's four-year-and-four-hundred-gigs popularity. Just because they are teenagers does not give them the right to be sued and especially NOT for something that makes them what they are today!
