Middle School Needed in Western Chesterfield, VA

Background
The School Board and Planning Commission have recommended changing the Chesterfield County, VA Public Facilities Plan regarding the location of one of the next two middle schools.
The immediate need for a middle school is greatest in the Western part of the Matoaca Magisterial District, which is currently identified in the Chesterfield County, VA Public Facilities Plan as the vicinity of the west Hull Street corridor, between Woodlake Parkway and Baldwin Creek Road.
The proposal is a compromise location to the current location language in the Chesterfield County, VA Public Facilities Plan and has been defined as at, or east of Route 288, north of Hull Street Road and south of Midlothian Turnpike in the eastern Matoaca Magisterial District.
This compromise placement doesnt serve the needs of the residents and children who are suffering from the highest overcrowding issues and most growth in residential housing.
Petition
We the undersigned, petition the Board of Supervisors to maintain the current Public Facilities Plan language, defeat the proposal to compromise with our childrens education and safety; and reject any proposal that does not:
Provide needed relief to the areas of Chesterfield most in need of the Public Facilities
Meet the planning criteria for school location selection
Meet the Plan level of service indicator of convenience of school facilities
As a result, we therefore support the new middle school location in the vicinity of the west Hull Street corridor, between Woodlake Parkway and Baldwin Creek Road.
