We ask Moray Council to reconsider and to come up with alternatives that will continue to support the growth of the Arts sector, and hence encourage the material and intellectual life of the region.We ask the Moray Council to consult with Moray’s artists, arts organisations and creative sector.
The Arts and Cultural industries are integral to the life of a healthy society. Art and culture tells us who we are, challenges us, explains us, and designs the world around us. There is now a significant risk that the industry that has built up in Moray over recent years will be eroded and lost as its arts and culture professionals are forced to look for opportunities in other regions of the country. Whole generations of children and young people will now miss out on significant opportunities that currently exist and that have the power to transform lives and futures for the better.
