Mr. Khatamis Award of Intercultural Dialogue: An Irony and Desecration of Human Rights and Iranian Ethnic Peoples
Creation of the Aryan myth in Europe and fascination of the Iranian elite with it reconstructed the history of the land which is called Iran today. As a result, belonging to the "noble" linage of Aryans and speaking the "sweet" Persian language became the tokens of "noble" Aryan nation of Iran. By deposing Ahmad Shah, the last king of Qajar dynasty, and ascendance of Reza Pahlavi to the throne all non-Persian speaking Iranians became the Others. People living in the free world such as the US and Europe paid the price of the Aryan myth fanaticism with the miseries brought about by Nazis in Europe. They paid for it by millions of peoples lives, the holocaust and the destruction of European cities. Yet there has not been any relief for the Azerbaijani Turks and other ethnic peoples in Iran from tyranny perpetrated by Nazis sympathizers of the Pahlavi era Iran and its Islamic successors. A diagnostic approach to President Ahmadinejad's holocaust denial and former president, Mr. Khatami's "dialogue of civilizations" will disclose the symptoms of Aryan fantasy in Iranian leaders and their followers. President Ahmadinejad's blunt remarks about "eliminating Israel from the world map" and his denial of holocaust may speak for themselves, but Mr. Khatami's "dialogue of civilizations" is a euphemism to preach about his fantasized Iranian ancient history and promote his Aryan myth. One may imagine the hardships of the survival case of non-Persian speaking Others such as Iranian Arabs, Azerbaijani Turks, Baluchis, Gilakis, Kurds, Lors, Mazandaranis, and Turkmans, who were subjected to the rigorous Persianization measures of Reza Shah and Mohammad Reza Shahthe Pahlavi dynasty and its present Islamic successors.
With respect to the mentioned facts, recognizing Mr. Khatami with Intercultural Dialogue Award is disrespect to the ethnic peoples of Iran who comprise the majority of the countrys population. It will also be a desecration of Europes time-honored Oriental scholarship and Iranology. Iranian ethnic peoples who have been the target of Aryan myth worshipers jokes, and they have been deprived from their most legitimate civil rights would like to put a number of valid questions to Mr. Khatami before being presented the award.
Is Mr. Khatami going to apologize for the video clip in which he viciously makes fun of the Azerbaijani people while his audience ridicule and insult Azerbaijanis and Gilakis?
Does Mr. Khatami know or care how many Azerbaijani youths were killed in the street protests of the summer of 2006 in different cities of Azerbaijan? How many were arrested? How many have been released and how many are still the regimes prisons?
How much does Mr. Khatami know about the ethnic peoples of his own country?about their populations, the budgets allocated for the development of their region, to preserve their threatened culture and suppressed language.
Did Mr. Khatami believe in the constitution of his country during eight years of two term presidency? Why he did not implement Article 15 of his countrys constitution.
How does Mr. Khatami reconcile his advocating Intercultural Dialogue, propagating and promoting it on international plane with his lack of responsibility and interest towards his countrys ethnicities whose culture, whose language, whose identity and whose very being are constantly threatened and annihilated.
