The Muslim community has strongly adopted the Quixtar opportunity as a way to better their lives by developing an honest and wholesome business backed by Alticor. The leaders of Alticor and Quixtar have shown great concerns and have made generous efforts to conform the business opportunity to the needs of all religious backgrounds, such as providing vegetarian products and halal and kosher certified products. We the Muslim IBOs deeply appreciate these noble efforts. However, we kindly request that you along with the great team of leaders of Alticor consider providing a way for IBOs to have the option not to receive income from certain products.
In Islam, Muslims are expressly prohibited to consume pork, as mentioned in the sacred book, The Quran. In addition, the prohibition continues to show that deriving income from selling prohibited products is also unlawful for Muslims.
Help you one another in righteousness and piety, but do not help one another in sin and transgression. (Quran 5:2)
Currently, Quixtar has two partner stores, Omaha Steaks and Hickory Farms that provide meats, and poultry products, along with pork products.
We are confident that Alticor and Quixtar strive to do the best for the business opportunity and its participants. However, we highly value giving the option to Muslim IBOs the choice not to receive any profits, PV/BV from these two partner stores, or any other future partners that carry pork products.
We suggest adding a checkbox option in the new IBO registration form indicating whether or not he/she would like to receive profits from pork related products. Perhaps the profit could be passed upline to an IBO who does not mind receiving those types of profits.
We, the undersigned therefore petition Alticor and Quixtar to kindly provide Muslim IBOs the option to run a profitable business in agreement with the Islamic Law, and give them the choice not to receive profits from pork products.
