"Nameing this city to "West Kelowna" will only serve to confuse those not familiar with our area. If we are to be a distinct city of our own, we need a distinct name, not one that indicates we are part of Kelowna."

"It is only those who are not from Westbank that call it Westside and want to change the name. Westbank has a history of over 100 years and changing the name is disrespectful to those who came before us and made Westbank what it is today."
