We believe that a more holistic approach to the problem must be considered and some suggestions are outlined below:
the synchronization of traffic signals
the widening of the ABC highway
the standardisation of rules at roundabouts
clearly marking lanes on highways and in roundabouts
the staggering of zebra crossings at roundabouts
painting of no mans land grids at traffic light intersections
the strengthening of police enforcement
We believe that these and other suggestions need be taken into serious consideration before the tax payers are asked to foot a bill of $120 million for a solution which may not be the correct one to this ever-increasing problem.
We are requesting that the Ministry host sessions in the form of town-hall meetings, much like last years Consultation on Traffic Management which was held at Sherbourne Center, to allow the public to give their views on the traffic congestion problems and possible solutions.
We ask that you remember that in a democratic society, each and every one of us has the right to assist in the development of the country to make it better for all.
