National Organizations for Youth Safety (NOYS) and affiliate The BACCHUS Network cordially invite you to support National Youth Traffic Safety Month and asks you to please consider issuing a proclamation and participating as your schedule permits. In the the inaugural year of this campaign you can help Americas youth of your state know that the adults in our communities are concerned about youth traffic safety and support our efforts.

Youth around the world will be participating in activities to promote youth traffic safety awareness during the week of April 23-29 during the United Nations Global Road Safety Week; then youth across the United States will carry this momentum into the month of May to celebrate National Youth Traffic Safety Month. May is an important month to raise awareness about this issue with the youth activities of prom, graduation, and summer vacation season. We are asking everyone to support this youth led campaign to raise awareness and increase education concerning youth traffic safety. Every year more than 6,000 youth lives are lost due to traffic related injuries. Many of these crashes can be prevented by taking reasonable safety precautions. Therefore, the theme of the United Nations Global Road Safety Month and National Youth Traffic Safety Month is Safety is NO Accident.

We know that youth safety is very important to you and seek your assistance. We are asking you to proclaim May as National Youth Traffic Safety Month in your state. A proclamation would indicate your support and assist in obtaining the support of others. Please find enclosed a sample proclamation.

Any support and/or assistance you can provide will have a great impact on helping us get the message out that Safety is NO Accident. We thank you in advance for the work that you do and will do to help the youth of your state be safe on the roads.

We will contact your office to confirm that you have received this letter and answer any questions that you or your staff may have.

National Organizations for Youth Safety (NOYS), is a nonprofit coalition of youth led and youth serving national organizations that focus on youth safety and health organizes National Youth Traffic Safety Month.
