NO Ferris Bueller 2!!!!!!!

The film is considered to one of the best comedies of all time and the mere thought of a follow up is completely unthinkable. What John Hughes achieved with his movie is untouchable and anyone that is really a fan of it should know better than to try and improve upon something that is legendary in status.
This is being written because of the script entitled "Ferris Bueller 2: Another Day Off", that a writer named Rick Rapier is shopping around pushing to get made. While Mr. Rapier has his rights to engage in such activity, we feel that the memory of "Ferris Bueller" on the big screen should be left intact and that any attempt to relive that moment and/or revisit that group of amazing characters will be a bastardization and only end in misery and disappointment.
Many sequels might sound like a good idea on paper, but never seem to capture the magic of the original. To trample on such a classic movie that is "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" by contemplating a sequel, is to say that one thinks he can do better than the predecessor.
Wouldn't John Hughes himself have made a sequel if he felt there was more left to tell about those characters?!? Mr. Hughes' reputation as a great director/writer was cemented in Hollywood and could have done another story if he chose.
Why besmirch the history of the characters, and those who worked on the film, by believing someone can make an even better movie?!? Mr. Rapier, if you were such the fan of this great movie, as you claim to be, you would not even experiment with this ill-conceived idea. No real fan would. Your time would be better spent on creating something ORIGINAL!
Any, repeat, ANY attempt to make a sequel (or remake) of this consummate comedy will only be made in vain, as we will boycott the picture and studio, making damn sure it goes down in flames, along with everyone's career that is associated with it!!!!
