NO MORE KRAMER

On Friday November 17, 2006 former Seinfeld actor Michael Richards performed what was suppose to be an act filled with jokes and laughter. However, those in attendance at the Laugh Factory in Hollywood, CA were witnesses to one of the most hate filled, offensive and racist public displays in the history of the United States. Although Richards, who just turned 57, claims to be a comedian, THIS IS NO LAUGHING MATTER. With the rise of Police Brutality, the A.I.D.S. epidemic and the most recent KATRINA catastrophe, incidents of outward and upfront racism must be confronted and resolved.

Since the incident Richards has publicly apologized for his statements and stands by his belief that he is not a Racist! However, much more needs to be done to rid this country of the ugly stain we call RACISM. As public figures, individuals (including Richards) must be held to a higher standard by those of us who support them by watching their shows, paying to view their movies and patronizing comedy clubs in which they perform.

This is a petition directed to the Jamie Masada (Owner and CEO) of The Laugh Factory in Hollywood, Time Square and Long Beach. WE THE PEOPLE are calling for a Lifetime Ban of one Michael Richards for his very offensive and racially charged statements directed not only to the African-Americans who were in attendance that evening at the Laugh Factory, but also the entire African American population of the United States. By stating : Fifty years ago we'd have you upside down with a f------ fork up your a--.", Richards not only offended every Black American today but also disrespected and tarnished the image of every Man, Woman and Child who lost their lives to the mass lynchings in this country in the past.

Mr. Masada, your clubs are patronized by thousands of African Americans every year. A racial tirade occurred in your Hollywood Laugh Factory and a Lifetime Ban of Richards will ensure that he will not be given the stage again to repeat such offensive and racist behavior. We the people are calling for a Lifetime Ban in all of your locations including Hollywood, Time Square and Long Beach.
