No more weddings on Sunday during the NFL season

We the undersigned request all married couples to-be and their wedding planners cease and desist from holding weddings on Sundays during the National Football Leagues (NFL) regular season and playoffs. For too long, NFL fans have suffered the unenviable task of choosing between a beloved team or attending the nuptials of a friend or family member. A wedding is a special event for all those involved and should be remembered as a moment symbolizing the beginning of a carefully planned life together, not the day you missed your team play. This quandary has caused untold number of arguments with significant others. We ask that you no longer plan weddings on Sunday during the NFL season.

If our requests are met:
No longer will choices have to be made between team loyalty and open bars and buffets.
No longer will celebration of the wedding be diminished by the anxiety of an important game.
No longer will vital moments of marriage ceremonies and banquets be missed whilst running to the bar or restroom to get game updates.
No longer will opportunities for developing relationships with the eager wedding guests be missed because of heated debate and discussion over the latest set of cryptic messages and score updates.
No longer will we suffer the indignity of being lectured by a significant other or family member for checking scores on our phone.
