No Saltwater Fishing License In New Jersey

We the undersigned, oppose the license tax (Saltwater Fishing License) proposal of Robert McDowell, Director of the N.J. Division of Fish and Wildlife, to be levied upon Recreational Fisherman pursuing their sport in the tidal waters of New Jersey. In our view this additional tax will only help state government expand its budget and spending in boosting the state Division of Fish and Wildlife's marine fisheries budget by 170 percent and more than doubling the size of the agency's staff. As recreational fishing already contributes nearly $50 million in state taxes and $1.5 billion to New Jersey's economy each year, we believe the Recreational Sport Fishing community has already been a substantial source of funds via taxes paid and revenue generated for the state without this proposed addional tax. As a community of approximately 841,000 recreational fisherman we strongly urge those of the law making process to carefully examine this issue and join us in our campaign of "NO SALTWATER FISHING LICENSE"
