No to Starbucks on California Avenue

To: Palo Alto City Council, California Avenue Area Development Association, Starbucks President

We the undersigned believe that opening a Starbucks store on California would be destroying the unique character of the street and would unfairly compete with the small businesses that provide for its diversity.

Starbucks already has a store at El Camino Real and Stanford Avenue, as well as more than six other stores within a 2-mile radius (as per Starbucks' website).

There are currently at least six different shops all serving different kinds of coffee on California Avenue in different settings. We want those shops to continue and thrive, and not be threatened by Starbucks.
