Official Holiday For Each Religion

I think it's time that Canada as a democratic nation offers it's citizens a public holiday for each religion occasion. What I mean by religious occasion is the equivalent of what Christmas is to the Christian Faith.
This offers not just the Christian community in Canada to enjoy a religious holiday but simultaneously offers any religious community to appreciate each other's religious beliefs and therefore strengtening us as a people and nation.
For those who say that this is not realistically possible take into account that a country like India that is multicultural and multireligious society, celebrates holidays and festivals of various religions, including Hindu, Musilim, Sikh and Christian and Chinese holidays while still be a rapidly high-growth economy. These religious holidays in India are your equivalent of the Christmas shopping season in economic terms.
Imagine a day where it does not matter what religion you follow, but you have the ability to celebrate and get a deeper understanding and respect for your friends, collegues, relatives who are of a different religious denomination. All Canadian citizens of all religious denominations get Christmas Day off today and as such benefit from the Christmas.
As Christian's would you consider it unfair to not get the same benefit of a public holiday that your friend or neighbour of another religious denomination is celebrating?
Imagine what it will do for the economy.
1 - Increased retail shopping during these religious holidays. Like Christmas, Valentine's Day or Back to School these could be good for the economy.
2 - An opportunity for every Citizen to recurperate and celebrate the occasion with their friends or neighbours who are of a different religious denomination.
