One Wall Handball In Flamingo Park

Three wall handball courts would have less appeal to the community which Flamingo Park serves.
One wall handball courts are used by the vast majority of Handball and Paddleball players in South Florida.
Replacing the current handball courts with three wall courts would cause at least two organized community sport groups to leave Flamingo Park for other more suitable locations. These groups bring increased attendance and revenue to the Park and local businesses.
One wall handball courts are less expensive to construct and maintain.
One wall handball courts provide more open space and thus do not encourage vandalism or other criminal behavior.
One wall handball courts are required for Flamingo Park to be considered as a venue for future handball and paddleball tournaments.
To accomplish what we ask, the City needs to simply have the project manager remove the side walls from the handball courts in the existing Flamingo Park renovation plan. One Wall court boundary lines/dimensions are the same as the three wall courts. This does not in any way increase the cost of the project.
Therefore we formally ask that existing one wall handball courts in Flamingo Park only be replaced with updated handball courts of the same one wall design.
