Open foods for America

Do you know what is being put in your food? WIth our currently highly deregulated food industry, food service providers don't have to tell you what's inside and where they're getting it from. This problem is most significant in our gigantic fast food industry, which can produce synthetic junk food from god knows where, and feed it to the masses. This status quo is unsustainable, especially due to the fact that increasingly, fast food has become the main form of sustenance for lower income and working class America. How do we stop this problem? The signers of this petition support aggressive transparency legislation to require ALL of the food industry to reveal to the people nutrition facts, ingredients lists, and sources of ingredients. Without such basic information, we the people cannot make informed decisions about what we feed ourselves and our children. Protect America's future. Make the food industry transparent NOW!
