We, the undersigned, object to planning application number 12/00279/OUTMAJ proposing the outline application for residential development including proposed access off Tull Way, Thatcham Berkshire on the grounds that if the development went ahead it would result in: Destruction of Greenfield Sites and reduction of the strategic green gap between Thatcham and Newbury, contrary to the West Berks Proposed Core Strategy and Local Plan Saved Policies. Destruction of an area of important historic, natural, rural open space Increased risk of flooding in the local area. Further drain on infrastructure Loss of wildlife habitat- this area of open space is often frequented by Red Kites, bats, owls and other species (peewits have been reported and badger tunnels have been seen in Florence Gardens. Increased congestion in the area decreased safety on Tull Way. Increased Noise and Light pollution Have a Detrimental effect on the character of properties on the edge of the rural countryside and loss of the open nature of the neighborhood. A rural visual landscape will be replaced by an urban one.
