To whom it may concern,
We, the employees of Troy EC emergency department, are writing with deep concern, profound disappointment, and a shared sense of urgency regarding the decision to remove our manager Miriana Pascas (Mimi) from her position. This news has left us devastated. We cannot stand by silently while a leader who has consistently supported, respected, and advocated for us is forced out without our voices being heard.
We were informed that Human Resources conducted an investigation, yet not a single member of our team was interviewed or asked to provide insight. We have since learned that the reason for her removal is an anonymous complaint alleging that Mimi and Joal are related—a claim that the majority of us were not even aware of until now. This only deepens our concern, as such a serious decision appears to have been made without transparency, without input from the staff who work with her daily, and without confirming whether this allegation had any bearing on our department’s functioning, fairness, or professional environment.
This alone demonstrates a process that feels incomplete, unbalanced, and disconnected from the reality of our daily work environment. We are the individuals who interact with our manager every day—professionally, personally, and directly. Our experiences, our perspectives, and our truth should matter in any decision that so drastically affects our workplace.
Mimi has been a steady source of fairness, encouragement, and respect. She treats every employee equally and without bias. She defends us when we are not in the room. She listens when we speak. She corrects with dignity, recognizes our accomplishments, and supports us through challenges. Most importantly, she has cultivated an environment where we feel valued, heard, and safe—something that is not easily created and cannot be replaced without significant consequences.
Removing Mimi from her position would not only disrupt the department but would be detrimental to the morale, stability, and trust of the employees who depend on her leadership. We stand united in our opposition to this decision and ask that our voices be acknowledged and taken seriously. We request immediate reconsideration of this action and an opportunity for the employees—those who are directly impacted—to be heard.
We believe in transparency. We believe in fairness. And we believe that no decision of this magnitude should be made without the input of the very people who work closest with her every day.
We respectfully ask that you reevaluate this decision and allow our collective voice to be part of the process. Mimi has stood up for us time and time again. Now it is our turn to stand up for her.
Sincerely,
The Employees of Corewell Health Troy Beaumont Emergency Department
