Overturn Arizona Proposition 102

We also believe that the "Yes for Marriage" advertisements were very manipulating and that voters were confused by the wording. Voters mostly had no idea that they were voting against same sex marriage, but only keeping the laws the same as they were. This is obvious since in 2006, proposition 107 was rejected by over 50,000 votes. Also, since it is already illegal for same sex couples to be married in Arizona, proposition 102 did nothing but allow a discriminative group of people to strip away our human rights. It is now almost impossible to take the matter to court since it has become a constitutional amendment, as opposed to just a statute.
Since the creators of proposition used the slogan "Yes for Marriage" and called it the "Marriage Amendment" as opposed to using the slogan "No for Same Sex Marriage" or calling it the "Against Same Sex Marriage Amendment", we believe the proposition should be overturned because it was confusing and misleading. Proposition 107 did not pass in 2006 because it was an obvious violation of our human rights and did not confuse voters. We feel that law makers did not trust or respect our original decision as voters, and that this new ban should be overturned immediately. Proposition 102 does not protect the sanctity of marriage, but instead discriminates against same sex couples while needlessly getting involved in people's private decisions.
