Pass S1990-2011! Child Murder should be a First Degree Murder Offense.

Today,July 13, 2011, Levi Aron was charged with Murder in the Second Degree Intentional in the death of and dismemberment of 8 year old Lieby Kletzy, an innocent 8 year old boy, who only wanted to walk home from day camp. It is clear that Levi Aron should have been charged with Murder in the First Degree, for this barbaric and horrific crime. In January of this year, Senator Martin J. Goldin (R-C-I Brooklyn) introduced legislation that would change the murder of a child under the age of twelve to a First Degree Murder Offense. Senator Goldin stated today that "due to recent events, there is clearly a need for increased penalties for those individuals that commit such Heinous crimes"."This is a time for New York State to stand up for all children and families so that tragedies as this never happen again.The children of New York State deserve every protection possible from the dangers of our society, and now more than ever a necessary law to have on our books."
Now more than ever, we petition the Senate, the Assembly and the Governor to pass S1990-2011.
