THIS WE BELIEVE:
An energy policy for the City of Tulsa to include:
All City employees use bicycles for official travel under 3 miles;
Redeployment of bicycle units in all Tulsa Police Divisions using guidelines established by the International Police Mountain Bike Association, www.ipmba.org;
Reduce the motor pool inventory by 5\% per year;
Convert remaining fleet to use alternative sources of fuel;
Convert from conventional energy sources to renewable sources;
Hire a City energy czar.
Develop a viable business plan to profitably operate the Arena. The current Mayor Bill LaFortune led the effort to build the Arena without a pre-exiting business plan.
Establish an independent convention and tourism board accountable to the taxpayers, not to private interests.
Hire a qualified city manager to serve as the City's Chief Operating Officer.
Streamline the management of the Mayor's Office and city departments, modelled on the U.S. Marine Corps' organizational structure.
Merge EMS operations into the Fire Department.
Provide state-of-the-art, disaster-hardened communications system to the City's first responders.
Establish an independent Police Review Board, as required by a consent decree.
Install video and audio surveillance systems in all Tulsa Police patrol vehicles.
Create conditions to support the re-development of North Tulsa.
Establish sunseting tax-free zones to provide start-up support to speciality retail businesses and residential development in Downtown and select North Tulsa locations.
Reduce traffic congestion in South Tulsa by providing more opportunities for walking, bicycling, and mass transit to thrive.
Urge Congress to repeal provisions of the Patriot Act that infringes on civil liberties.
Provide substantial support the Race Riot Memorial to serve as a historical tourism destination.
