Sony stops from releasing charity song benefiting to the victims of terrorist attacks on September 11th

The song "What More Can I give" has been recorded in October 2001 by more than 35 artists among which Michael Jackson, Celine Dion, Usher, Mariah Carey, Ricky Martin, Gloria Estefan, Anastacia, NSYNC, Carlos Santana, Julio Iglesias and Shakira.

The purpose was a fund raiser for the victims, victims families, and child charities.

At the beginning, Sony refused to release the song on the pretext that there would be a conflict with releasing this at the same time as new Michael Jackson's opus "Invincible". But this was a false excuse for this would only have help in the marketing of both records.

8 months later, Sony still refuses So what is now their excuse?

"They are punishing many innocent people who would have been the much needed beneficiaries of the proceeds. This the most blatant disgusting act of Corporate greed. Sony should be ashamed of themselves and the public should not them get away with this, without a stink" executive producer, Marc Schaffel, said.

By now, other labels have said they would release these songs in a heartbeat if Tommy Mottola (Sony US Director) would allow them to.

Does Sony feel this is not an honourable stance to be taking?

This is a crime if Sony doesn't allow the song to get released. We call you out to be active by demonstrating against Sony, boycotting their products and advising the press about such behaviour. Sony must change their mind and replace the people who are behind all this mess.

"You cannot just "throw" peoples lives away because it is not convenient for you at this time. The charities and all people alike need to join in by publicly showing the world how "stupid" this game is that the record company is playing, and get the victims to write, picket, demonstrate, contact the media, etc. Maybe Sony needs to stop for a second and listen to the lyrics "WHAT MORE CAN I GIVE," and then ask themselves that same question" Marc Schaffel said.

We call out all music fans, charity organisations and all the people who do not agree upon Sony's decision to add their signature to that petition which will be passed on to the appropriate addressees.
