PETITION FOR A MORE EFFICIENT AND ACCESSIBLE CONSULAR CARD ISSUANCE PROCESS

The process of obtaining a consular card for the Algerian community living in Vietnam is unnecessarily cumbersome and time-consuming. Currently, applicants face long waiting times, and a lack of clear communication, which create significant challenges for our community members. This card is essential as it serves as proof of registration with the Algerian authorities, allowing access to consular services and the protection of our rights overseas.

Many Algerians living in Vietnam are teachers, and families who require timely access to these services to secure their status, and ensure their legal rights are upheld. The delays in obtaining a consular card can result in unnecessary legal complications, missed opportunities, and emotional distress.

We propose that the Algerian embassy in Vietnam undertakes a thorough review of the current procedures and implements a more efficient system for application processing. By digitizing application records, providing more comprehensive guidelines, and reducing unnecessary paperwork, the process can become more transparent and user-friendly. The introduction of an online appointment system could further streamline the process, thereby reducing wait times and alleviating the associated stress.

We kindly ask for immediate action to ensure that the Algerian community can easily access consular services and support. Our community must not be hindered by inefficiencies when it comes to their rightful access to consular assistance. We therefore urge the Algerian embassy in Vietnam to prioritize this issue and make critical improvements to the consular card issuance process.
