Petition For Security Cameras

This petition has been drafted in response to the constant reports of vandalism and theft in our universitys parking lots and other places on campus. All too often are there reports of broken windows, busted side-view mirrors, slashed tires, spray painted tags, and other miscellaneous acts of vandalism against student and staff property. We feel that these acts can be subdued by implementing a system of closed-circuit cameras around parking lots and outdoor walkways.

By signing this petition, I am requesting that the administration of the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth find a way to fund, implement, and support a closed-circuit camera system around university parking lots and public walkways, to help ensure the safety of not only property belong to the university and its community, but also the safety of the UMass-Dartmouth community as a whole.
