Petition to allow cell phone use for emergency Use

In Accordance with this petition, we ask that the Spartanburg School District #6 allow cell phones with their school buildings during school hours for emergency use only. The following are suggestions to enforce this new policy if enacted within Spartanburg School District #6.

A. All cell phones while allowed within the building must be on silent or turned off.

B. Rules for not using the cell phone for Emergency Use would be strictly enforced.

C. The following are punishments that could be used as a way to enforce such rules.

1. Cell phone taken away for the Semester and only picked up after the student has signed an agreement not to break the strict code of cell phone conduct.(student must have parent present to pick up the said cell phone)

2. Upon the students second warning, may the time fit the crime but no less than that of two days of ISS. (Cell phone taken again and only returned to parent)

3. Should a Student break the Code of Cell Phone Conduct again, shall the punishment have up to 3-5 days of OSS.

This Code of Cell Phone Conduct would be placed in the Student Handbook, therefore the students can not say they havent read it or do not have it.
