I the undersigned would like to petition the Mayor and the Councilors of Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) not to make the 2011 Canada Games Skating Oval a permanent fixture on the Halifax North Commons to ensure the preservation of the remaining lands that are left as part of the Commons.

It's great & all but where's the money coming from to maintain? What will the softball players do if they lose 2 diamonds (I think they pay to use the space)? If the oval stays, there should be a nominal charge - maybe a free skate once a month or som

The common should be used as just that; a common area for people to use as the wish... permanent fixtures take away from the overall property usage posibilities.
