Petition to Save William Baker Neighbourhood & Have it designated as a Heritage District

The William Baker Neighbourhood is Toronto’s only remaining Military Housing Community.
This neighborhood has served as home to the families of our country's armed forces since the 1950's, people whom have gone off & fought for the freedoms we have today.
The William Baker Neighborhood is slated to be demolished and redeveloped. If this plan proceeds it would destroy this historical area and one of North York's oldest densely treed woodlots and the various types of wildlife that live within and call this place home.
This area is special & like no other anywhere else, it should be preserved and designated as a Heritage District, the type of architecture from the era these homes were built is no more and cannot be replaced.
Change is constant however our history is a valuable resource as is the environment. The William Baker Neighborhood needs to be protected, honored and preserved.
The time to act is now as it is not too late to change things.
We, the undersigned, are concerned citizens who urge our Government Leaders to act now to save this area from such redevelopment.
We ask that the William Baker Neighborhood be designated and preserved as a Heritage District in the City of Toronto in honor of those whom have served our great country and for future generations to reflect upon and enjoy.
Lest we forget.
